TOURNAMENTS & BRACKETS

Free Bracket Generator Opens to Every Sports Organizer

Play 2 Earn Sports' free bracket generator builds a 4, 8, 16 or 32-team single-elimination bracket in the browser, with no login needed to preview.

Free Bracket Generator Opens to Every Sports Organizer

OTTAWA — Play 2 Earn Sports has opened its free bracket generator to every organizer. Enter 4, 8, 16 or 32 teams and it draws a complete single-elimination bracket in the browser, round by round. Building and previewing need no login. A six-digit email code saves the bracket when you are ready.

The tool sits at the centre of the platform's tournament tools. It is built for the weekend cup, the end-of-season playoff and the one-day community event, where an organizer needs a clean draw fast and has no budget for tournament software.

What does the free bracket generator do?

You name the event, pick a sport and choose the number of teams. The generator creates one name field per team. As you type, the preview fills in from the first round through the quarterfinals and semifinals to the final.

  • Sizes: 4, 8, 16 or 32 teams. Each size fills every first-round match, so no team needs a bye.
  • Format: single elimination. Every match has a winner who moves on.
  • Sports: the sport list covers the platform's supported sports, from soccer, hockey and basketball to wrestling, swimming and track and field.
  • Saving: add an email and choose "Save & email my code". The code is valid for 30 minutes. Verifying it saves the bracket and takes you to account setup.

Pairings follow your list order: the first team plays the second, the third plays the fourth. That gives you control of the seeding. For an 8-team draw, entering seeds in the order 1, 8, 4, 5, 2, 7, 3, 6 keeps the top two seeds apart until the final.

What it does not do

The generator builds single-elimination draws only. Play 2 Earn Sports does not offer a double-elimination, round-robin or Swiss generator. It also does not build draws for 6, 12 or other team counts. For those events, the free tournament maker lets you set up the full event with divisions and a schedule inside your account.

Who is it for?

The bracket generator suits anyone who needs a knockout draw quickly:

  • club administrators running a holiday or weekend tournament;
  • coaches running an internal skills competition;
  • school and community organizers planning a one-day event;
  • leagues adding a cup round to a season.

A single-elimination draw with n teams always has n minus 1 matches: 7 matches for 8 teams and 15 for 16. That number tells you how many fields, courts or time slots the day needs.

Sanctioning in Canada

A bracket is only the draw. In Canada, many youth events must also be sanctioned by the sport's provincial association, which can set rules on insurance, officials and eligibility. In Ontario soccer, for example, check with Ontario Soccer or your district before you advertise the event. Other sports and provinces have their own bodies, so ask yours first.

If your event includes young athletes in Ontario, Rowan's Law sets concussion awareness and removal-from-sport rules for many amateur sport organizations. Plan for them before the first whistle.

How much does it cost and how do you get it?

The bracket generator is free. Building, previewing and saving a bracket cost nothing, and you do not need an account to build or preview. Open the free bracket generator, enter your teams and share the draw. Published events can also be listed in the tournament directory, where families and clubs search by sport and location.

What comes next

Play 2 Earn Sports is publishing a series of bracket and tournament guides on its stories page, covering seeding, byes and how many games a tournament needs. Clubs that run events all season can start a club free and keep their tournaments, teams and schedules in one account.

Frequently asked questions

Is the bracket generator really free?

Yes. Building, previewing and saving a bracket on Play 2 Earn Sports is free. You do not need an account to build or preview a bracket. You only verify an email address, with a six-digit code, when you want to save it and keep organizing the event.

Can it make a double-elimination bracket?

No. The generator builds single-elimination brackets only, for 4, 8, 16 or 32 teams. Play 2 Earn Sports does not offer double-elimination, round-robin or Swiss generators. For those formats, plan the draw by hand or use a printable template, then run the event in the tournament maker.

How do I seed teams in the bracket?

The bracket pairs teams in the order you list them: first against second, third against fourth. To seed an 8-team draw, enter seeds 1, 8, 4, 5, 2, 7, 3, 6. With no rankings, shuffle the list before you enter it so every team has the same chance.

Do I need sanctioning to run a youth tournament?

Often, yes. In Canada, many youth events need approval from the sport's provincial association, which may set insurance, officiating and eligibility rules. The bracket generator does not handle sanctioning. Check with your provincial or district association before you open registration or advertise the event.

Build your draw now: open the free bracket generator and preview your bracket in under a minute.
