Where SportsEngine
fits best.
No tool is wrong for everyone. SportsEngine is a good choice when:
- Organizations inside the NBC Sports Next ecosystem or affiliated with a governing body that already runs on SportsEngine.
- Registration-heavy programs that want a sales-supported platform with websites and marketing tools in one contract.
- Clubs that prefer a one-time start fee and per-transaction fees over a monthly software price.
Play 2 Earn Sports fits a club or league that wants the schedule, the referees, the families and the fees on one platform, with published pricing: Starter is $0 for clubs with up to 10 teams and leagues with up to 10 clubs, and the paid tiers are listed by team or club count. What we do not offer: native store apps, calendar subscription feeds, multi-division generation in one run or public standings pages. Compare on your own season, not on a feature list.
Move your season
from SportsEngine.
SportsEngine publishes team calendar links. Paste one into Import schedule, preview the games, confirm. A club imports an existing season from a calendar link, an .ics file or a CSV, with a preview and a check before anything is confirmed; players can connect another platform's calendar link to their own calendar and keep it refreshed. It is a one-way import of games, not a roster or registration transfer.
Supported calendar-link sources include TeamSnap, SportsEngine, GameChanger, LeagueApps, TeamLinkt, PlayMetrics, Heja, Sports Connect, Demosphere, RAMP Interactive, BenchApp and Crossbar, plus Google, iCloud and Outlook calendars. Then run the sports scheduling software wizard for next season, or the league scheduling software if you run a league.
SportsEngine's pricing page (checked 2026-10-12) lists HQ at $67 per month billed annually or $79 month to month with payments at 3.25% + $1.50, and a Motion option from a $295 start plus a 1% technology fee and 2.9% + $0.30 processing. Switching questions
Is Play 2 Earn a full SportsEngine alternative?
For clubs and leagues that need scheduling, registration, standings, referees, team chat and player profiles: yes, and it's free to start. Book a demo and we'll check your exact setup.
How do payments work?
Play 2 Earn tracks team and registration fees per family and records e-transfers, so you see who has paid; online payment links are not available, and the money moves between the family and your club. Play 2 Earn doesn't charge a subscription.
How long does switching take?
Most clubs are set up in an evening. Import rosters from a spreadsheet, invite coaches, publish the schedule.
Is Play 2 Earn free for clubs?
Free to start. Club Starter is $0 for up to 10 teams, Club Pro is $49.67 USD/month for 11 to 25 teams, and Club Unlimited is $99.67 for 26 or more teams. League Starter is $0 for up to 10 clubs, League Pro is $97.85 USD/month for 11 to 25 clubs, and League Unlimited is $196.35 for 26 or more clubs. Every organization feature is on every plan. Player and parent accounts are free; optional Player Pro is separate.
Can I see it before I switch?
Yes. Book a live demo and we'll walk through your own club or league, including how to move your rosters.
Is SportsEngine HQ free?
SportsEngine HQ advertises a free trial, while its published HQ plans start at $67 per month when billed annually or $79 month to month. Confirm a quote for your organization.
What does SportsEngine HQ include?
SportsEngine lists registration, payments, schedules, rosters, messaging, a team app and a website among HQ features. Package details and add-ons vary.
Does SportsEngine charge payment fees?
Its published HQ pricing lists a preferred processing rate of 3.25% plus $1.50. Verify your contract and payment method before comparing totals.
Is SportsEngine good for a large league?
SportsEngine supports large organizations. The better fit depends on required integrations, reporting, membership rules, price and onboarding. Compare a real season workflow in a demo.
Can I move from SportsEngine to Play 2 Earn?
Yes. Export roster and registration data you are allowed to use, import the roster, then rebuild schedules and payment settings. Run one division as a pilot.
Do I need SportsEngine Play to livestream?
SportsEngine Play is a separate video product with its own pricing. Ask which streaming features your HQ package includes before buying.
What should I check before switching sports team apps?

Can parents and players use Play 2 Earn without a paid account?
Yes. Parent and player accounts are free. Club registration is currently part of the limited-time free offer shown above.
Can I try Play 2 Earn before moving my whole league?
Yes. Book a demo, walk through your schedule and registration needs, and start with one club or season before moving everyone.
Do I need a credit card to register a club?
No credit card is required to create your club account.
