Player / CLUB, Support & Compliance Notice
We comply with Ontario Soccer’s amateur rules to ensure that all youth players maintain their eligibility and amateur status. Below are the ways players can receive support within the rules:
1. Sponsorships (Non-Cash Benefits)
Players may receive equipment, gear, or travel stipends from sponsors. No direct cash payments are allowed to preserve amateur status.
2. Scholarships
We offer educational scholarships. These are provided for school-related expenses or player development and are not considered payment for playing soccer.
3. Fundraising Events
Players may participate in team fundraisers to support operational costs like travel, gear, or tournament fees. No funds are paid directly to players.
4. Crowdfunding (For Team Support)
Crowdfunding efforts are allowed for team expenses (e.g., training, coaching). The funds raised benefit the team as a whole, not individual players.
5. Non-Profit Donations
The team is a non-profit, so donations can be accepted to cover expenses such as field rentals or coaching fees, benefiting the entire team.
6. Sponsorship of Travel and Accommodation
Sponsorships can be used for team travel and accommodation for tournaments, ensuring no individual players receive cash benefits.
7. Player Development Grants
Players may apply for development grants that cover training or educational costs, which is allowed under Ontario Soccer’s amateur guidelines.
8. Merchandise Sales
Teams can sell merchandise to raise funds for equipment, uniforms, or other team-related expenses. Proceeds are used for team activities, not for individual compensation.
9. Player Referral Bonuses
Players who bring in new members can earn non-cash rewards, such as free gear or reduced registration fees. This stays within the amateurism rules.
10. Community Service Stipends
Players can earn stipends for community service activities, such as helping coach younger teams. These stipends are tied to work done, not for playing soccer.
